You are expected to track and pay your insurance bills

LISTEN UP

Billing is between you and your insurance carrier.

Let’s say I’m your agent, and you have an active policy with Safeco with me. Safeco (and none of our several insurance companies) notify us of your missed payments.

You see, you are an adult, you are expected to monitor your billing statements provided to you from your insurance company. When Safeco says you owe them money, or that you missed a payment, they told YOU that. Thats between you and Safeco.

We are not notified.

For us to know that you missed a payment, we would have to manually open over 1000 policies and check. So for every customer, we’d have to open up your policy and take a look. This is simply a service we do NOT offer. We expect you to pay your insurance just like you pay your utilities, or pay your rent.

HOWEVER,

When the policy has fully cancelled due to nonpayment, THAT is when we are notified. That is when we reach out. And usually we can just simply collect the missed payment from you and reinstate the policy. If we can’t, we reshop, quote all of our companies, and find you a new policy to replace it.

“But Cody, why are you being so serious and blunt? You’re supposed to kiss my feet and worship me!” (Oh, I practically do, I couldn’t be more grateful for every single customer I have)

BECAUSE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW.

I get it, I didn’t understand this either. Before I knew how this stuff works, I ALSO would have figured, hey, it makes sense that my insurance agent would let me know when I missed a payment. So I get it.
